Music Introduction
I have for a long time had a working interest in music - whereby I have worked with composers, organised concerts, performed as a musician, or as a collaborating visual artist; these collaborations have included some American composers of the John Cage circle: the late Earle Brown, and Christian Wolff, for example, as well as composers from another tradition, such as the Italian Nicola Sani. I have also worked with the new music ensemble Apartment House, and as an improvising musician, performing with Tania Chen, John Tilbury, John Edwards, Bruce Coates, Rhodri Davies, Vinny Golia, Ian Mitchell, Simon Allen, Gianni Trovalusci, Alberto Popolla and many others. Working with composers and improvisers also means working with time, and therefore my visual work has more recently embraced video.

Performance/Installation
Video installations and concerts have both suggested new ways of utilising space ˆ and this is another interest manifested theoretically with an engagement with thinkers like Deleuze, Rajchman or Lefebvre, but also on a practical level. Two examples of this are: a forthcoming video project that explores the house of Italian composer Giacinto Scelsi a film in several parts with live music. And a realisation of Nicola Sani's AchaB at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music festival this year.
